Overview
3 Modules
Each module integrates four core elements of teacher professional development (link) to build teaching expertise in a specific area of elementary mathematics. Three modules are currently available:
Each modules builds on current research, providing practice-based experiences and routines to help teachers develop increasingly sophisticated and detailed insight into mathematics teaching.
10 Sessions Per Module
Each module comprises 10 approximately 90 minute sessions that support teachers in developing expertise with integrated knowledge and skills that are readily useable in day-to-day teaching. Each session connects professional development experiences with teacher’s own classroom experiences with curriculum and students in meaningful ways.
5–7 Parts Per Session
Each session includes five to seven parts that organize teachers’ engagement in mathematical problem solving, collaborative learning with colleagues, and exploration of student work and other classroom artifacts. Each session ends with a call to action for teachers to take what they have learned into their classrooms and return to the next session with information and insights to use
